Lysanne van Overbeek has been directing since 2016. Her first role as assistant director was on Alcina for Longborough Festival Opera. Since then she has directed at The Arcola, The Vaults and The Bunker theatre. She has worked as assistant director at the Barbican, The Greenwich Theatre, Celebrate Voice and The Arcola.

She moved to the UK at 18 to study at Trinitylaban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She graduated with a BA(hons) in 2013. Once she graduated, she worked all over Europe as an actress and teacher, before she began to focus on directing.

In 2014 she created Limitless PD, an initiative to raise money for the Cure Parkinson's Trust. With Limitless PD she's managed to raise hundreds of pounds which will all go to charity.
In 2018 Lysanne began her own theatre company Over the Pond Productions. Their first production was the sold out Lady of Stavoren, which opened at the Wandsworth Fringe in May 2018.

As a director, Lysanne is interested in pushing boundaries and creating ways for people to come closer together. This is vital in a time when we seem more distant than ever.
