Lysanne van Overbeek is a Dutch director working in the UK and Europe. Most recently she has worked for Longborough Festival Opera, Koln Oper, Barefoot Opera and the Arcola Theatre.
She moved to the UK at 18 to study at Trinitylaban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She graduated with a BA(hons) Musical Theatre in 2013. Once she graduated, she worked as an actress and teacher, before she began to focus on directing.
In 2014 she created Limitless PD, a theatrical initiative to raise money for the Cure Parkinson's Trust. In 2018 Lysanne began her own theatre company Over the Pond Productions. Their first production was the sold out Lady of Stavoren, which opened at the Wandsworth Fringe in May 2018.
As a director, Lysanne is interested in pushing boundaries and creating ways for people to come closer together. This is vital in a time when we seem more distant than ever.
